The Federation Of Master Builders

The Federation Of Master Builders is a trade association and will only grant membership to experienced builders who have been vetted and meet the FMB membership criteria.  The FMB badge indicates builders and specialists who can prove their skills and their good business standing.

The FMB offers customers extra protection through its 10 year insurance-backed MasterBond warranty, which protects against defects, ceasing to trade and death of the builder (subject to terms and conditions).

Choosing an FMB-registered builder will save you a lot of headaches.  Always follow some of these simple but important guidelines:

• Obtain names of previous clients, and if possible examine the work done.
• Have any work covered by an insurance-backed warranty.
• Be precise about what you want and ask for a written specification with the quote.
• Agree any staged and/or final payments before any work starts.
• If unhappy at any time while work is in progress, talk to your builder immediately.
