When Do We Start?

Most loft conversions do not require planning permission, however all loft conversions do require a technical approval by the local authority building department, which we can obtain for you.

Under normal circumstances approvals take between 4 and 6 weeks.  As an approximate allow 2-3 months from placing the order, depending on whether planning permission is required.  Once approval is given we negotiate a mutually agreed starting date with you.

Before construction commences you will meet our contracts and installation managers, who are personally responsible for the smooth running of your project and who will liaise with you throughout the building programme.

Construction Times

Our years of experience in loft conversions enables us to build quickly and efficiently.  An indication of the construction time can be given and will be based on your personal design and requirements.

Can my loft be converted and, if so, at what cost?
We don't know until we examine the property concerned.  We can send our estimator/surveyor to take measurements and provide an estimate cost.

Will I have to pay for a survey?
No.  The estimation and surveying service we provide is free of charge.

Will a loft conversion be a good investment?
Yes.  A loft conversion adds more to the value of your property than any other conversion.

Depending on the size of the project we found that 10-20 working days usually gives us enough time to complete the job and, while some disturbance is inevitable, it is kept to a minimum.

All finance houses encourage this type of investment or alternatively have it added to your mortgage.  Our financial advisor can give you more details on the possibilities.

Will I have to deal with the planning myself?
No.  Taylor-Made Loft Conversions will deal with every detail from start to finish including surveys, design and planning and ofcouse final construction.
